It’s your book.
Let’s make it shine.

$80 per hour
These one-on-one sessions will address concerns with your writing practice and craft, support you through writers block, and provide guidance for how to best support your story’s growth. For each hour booked, you may submit up to one thousand words of manuscript or prewriting (like character interviews, worldbuilding, or outline) for me to review prior to our session. You’ll get actionable feedback, exercises to develop your skills, and the encouragement that you need to finish that novel!

You’ve finished your manuscript. Congratulations! A manuscript evaluation or critique will assess whether or not your story is working. This involves a thorough evaluation of plot, character, relationships, and world-building. The detailed report will hold a mirror to your manuscript, showing you what readers see, and offering feedback and suggestions for improving overall story flow.

Like a manuscript evaluation, a developmental edit dives into big-picture issues in the manuscript, only deeper. This feedback comes in the form of both a detailed report (at least ten pages long) and in-manuscript comment bubbles focusing on specific moments within the manuscript that could hit harder. Each developmental edit comes with an hour-long one-on-one real-time consultation to discuss any questions you have about observations and suggestions in the developmental report. Line editing will clean up sentence and paragraph level flow and transitions in the manuscript, while copyediting tackles the technical issues of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, conforming to your style guide of choice. Pricing varies based on word count and whether the manuscript needs a light, medium, or heavy-handed edit. Contact me today to schedule your free 2,000-word sample edit and consultation.

This is an exciting time, and it’s crucial for catching those errors that have slipped through previous levels of editing.
